Beckstrand is a non-profit organisation which is dedicated to enhancing equality of life for cancer patients and their families. Each month, $30,000 goes directly to the patients. Make a cash donation here. 100% of any amount donated large or small goes directly to the Beckstrand Cancer Foundation. Special thanks to Beckstrand's Executive Director Lil Spitzer.
10 year old boy, Elias, has late stage leukemia. He had been in the hospital for several months - coma for a few days - and had just returned home for the first time days prior to the visit in December 2011. What he wanted from "Santa" more than anything else was a puppy - specifically a Yorkie. So Beckstrand Cancer Foundation got him a 10 week old Yorkie, along with EVERYTHING else on his wish list and the CSI boys surprised him and delivered the puppy and gifts for the entire family a few days before Christmas.
On October 22nd, Adam attended the 2011 Diamond & Pearl Ball Benefiting the Beckstrand Cancer Foundation. The Ball included an energetic auction which saw Adam and his CSI Miami co-stars Jonathan Togo, Omar Miller and Beckstrand's national spokesperson Eva LaRue take to the stage to help raise funds for the charity. An incredible and record breaking $1.3 million was raised on the night!
One of the many emotional moments of the evening included Adam and breast cancer survivor Wendy being reunited on stage. In 2010, through Beckstrand's uplifting BELIEVE program, Adam personally delivered Christmas presents to Wendy and her handicapped daughter Kaitlyn. Speaking in December 2010, Wendy said "It is one Christmas I'll never forget. Having my own personal Santa deliver the gifts was the cherry on top. He was so kind and friendly. We were afraid when we heard he was coming that the situation would be uncomfortable, but it wasn't at all. Adam was like an old friend coming to visit. Adam represented Beckstrand with a loving and caring heart." Inspirational Wendy has been on a rough road. Wendy and her younger sister both inherited MD from their father and Wendy's 11 year old daughter Kaitlyn inherited severe Muscular Dystrophy from her mother. Beckstrand Cancer Foundation paid rent, food, and utilities during Wendy's treatment.
