Adam In Ugly Betty is like cheese
with crackers; it just works!" - Alison
The forth season of Ugly Betty had one new addition in the form of Adam Rodriguez. Adam originally signed on for 5 episodes of the season which could have been extended to 7. After completing a 7 episode arc, it was announced that Adam would now see out the rest of the final season with a total of 11 episodes.
Proving a hit with viewers and the cast, Adam had his fair share of gripping and humorous storylines that included Bobby and Hilda losing their baby, Bobby finally being accepted by Ignacio, meeting his “mob” parents, proposing to Hilda, discovering that Justin is gay and lastly, walking down the isle and making an honest woman of Hilda. Adam provided a character that will be remembered and missed not only by fans of the show, but also by his most loyal fans across the globe.
Meet Bobby Talerico, an Italian with possible mob connections. He has a bit of a temper, spent time in jail and was Hilda Suarez’ former high school sweetheart. His parents Dina and Anthony, suspected of having links to organized crime have halted people from trusting Bobby and his family. Back in high school, Bobby and Hilda had a relationship that could have resulted in him being Justin’s father. Their intimate relations however were constantly interrupted by Hilda’s younger sister Betty.
Cut to 2009 and Bobby is back in town and teaching Drivers Ed at Justin’s school. Reuniting after all these years, feelings are once again stirred up. Betty still has a crush on Bobby, Hilda, despite having a boyfriend, still has feelings for her old flame and Bobby regrets letting Hilda go. Betty, having doubts over dating “good guys” asks Bobby to give her driving lessons, but during the first lesson, Bobby proves that he still has a bit of a temper when it involves people he cares about.
After rekindling their relationship, Hilda finds herself pregnant and having doubts about the father of her unborn baby. Not only is Hilda still unsure of Bobby, she also has to deal with the fact that her father believes he is and always will be a thug. During a heated argument, Hilda blurts out the pregnancy news not only to Bobby but to her entire family. Although feeling hurt by being kept in the dark, Bobby vows to stand by Hilda and their unborn child and prove he is a “good guy”. Having the good news that Ignacio is now approving of the relationship, the happiness is soon short lived as Hilda sadly loses the baby, but this does not stop Bobby standing by the woman he loves and cut to a few months later and a fire at the Suarez family home, he makes a romantic proposal that is accepted!
